Advokat Marie af Petersens IP Law AB is a small business law firm with main focus and expertise in intellectual property law, in particular trademarks and design. The firm also provides advice in marketing law matters and contracts, mainly related to the commercialization of intellectual property rights. Our strength is our experience and competence within our expertise areas and our goal is to always give our clients well-founded advice which contributes to commercial gain for our clients.

In order to safeguard the value of a company’s intellectual property rights it is important to develop strategies for the use of these rights as well as to act efficiently against infringements. Appropriate and effective agreements are essential for a successful commercialization of the rights. A well thought out portfolio of rights and cost efficient management of the portfolio are valuable tools to create, maintain and protect the rights, and an important asset for the company. 

We carry out availability searches to investigate the legal prerequisites to use and register a new trademark or design. We assist with registration of the trademark or design, both locally and globally. We administrate the trademark/design during its lifetime and monitor renewals. We watch the mark and act against unlawful use of the mark or design. We draft, review and negotiate agreements related to intellectual property rights, for example assignment, license and cooperation agreements.
